3D1N Trip to Hatyai

A throwback post again, a last minute planned trip to Hatyai on 23rd - 25th of May with my group project mates for Food & Culture subject. Since we need to make a dish that well represented the country, then we chose Thailand and we decided to go there to understand more about the culture! *HAHAHA!! excuses for wanting to go travel! It was my first time travel with them despite Jean & Amber and it was really a wonderful trip! Thanks Abang Syam for planning everything and tour us around there HEHE

So we sat the express bus to Hatyai on Friday night and overnight in the bus. Actually planned to buy train instead of bus but it was sold out. And we hesitated quite a long period of time whether to continue for this trip because there was booming in Hatyai. Everyone around thought we were crazy because we went during the dangerous time but thank god nothing happened =)

Waiting to board on the bus at Pudu Terminal. Alisan Golden Couch that got Wifi on the bus! HAHAHA! However, I slept all the way to Hatyai! HEHE

Sat for more than 10 hours and my butt almost flat already! Checked in Asian Hotel which located in the city centre. Good location and easily accessed to place =)

So what is so special about Hatyai ? This trip was all about food! We started our food hunting once we arrived and we totally forgot we came here for assignment purpose! HAHAHA
Whatever, who cares? Food and tourism are interrelated =D

My tourism gals, fooling around in the room while waited our turn to bath! HAHA

All the street food was DIRT CHEAP!! and looked so tempting!

Bought Mango Sticky Rice! A must EAT dish in Thai! super duper loved it! Only 35 baht omggg!!
Damn it was so cheap! I wished to buy one lorry back here!

2D1N Kuala Selangor & Sekinchan Trip

Hello to my readers, sorry for not updating my blog for so long as I seriously did not have the time to do so Sigh! However, I take the initiative to blog about this trip which I went during last weekend with my friends. Perfect getaway for KL people to relax and enjoy their life away from the hectic city life.

Highlights of the trip will be the firefly watching & eagle feeding!
U no longer need to go to Langkawi for eagle feeding!
And also the awesome paddy field in Sekinchan which I mad love in it!

It was less than 2 hours drive from KL to Kuala Selangor so we rent a van that can accomodate 10 of us and departed at 10 sth in the morning

Reach there at around noon time so we decided to have some food because some of us just jumped into the car without having breakfast
I liked the place and it's just a small village which is so alike as Lundu in Kuching.

Fried Kueh Tiao RM4
It was kinda yummy

Dumpling soup and mee RM4.50

Special kind of chicken rice RM4.50
Why i said it was special is because this made us recalled the memories of having chicken rice during our primary school! Chicken rice that wrapped in a plastic paper!
AHH! Childhood memories!!

Then, we went to the shop that sell local goods.
The prawn keropok is a MUST to buy because it was made freshly every week!
Super duper love it!
This shop is the FIRST shop that sell the local snacks in kuala selangor

This is the owner of the shop which had been interviewed by all kinds of newspaper and even on TV! =) *Actually this trip was my second time there so the pic above was me with my long hair the first time i went there! HEHE

Then, we checked in Apps Hotel, the place where we gonna stayed for one night. It was a brand new hotel in Kuala Selangor and everything was good and new!

The room was comfy and bed was soft HAHAHA

Shampoo, shower cap, soap, toothbrush, towel, hair dryers and slippers are provided as well!
There are also fridge and kettle in the room!
That's when u can have mee cup in the midnight HEHEHE

Then, we went to Bukit Melawati
Board on the train to go inside
It cost RM5 per pax

The big boom in Bukit Melawati

The 3 tourism cuties HAHAHA

The landmark of Kuala Selangor

On our way to see the monkey

There are so many shit on the road! Be careful!

M so excited because I going to feed the monkey! WOOHOO

I'm not kidding seriously there are whole row of monkeys waiting for us!
OMG!! surprisingly, they are so friendly and they do not simply attack human with foods!

So we can go near them and take picture with them

This fella is enjoying the banana given by Ting

Me feeding the monkey! After a while, a shit monkey snatch my whole bunch of banana! Ishhh!
Because at first I was so proud telling all of them i got 14 bananas that only cost RM1 (because Ting bought at RM3 for few), but at last, i left 1 banana on hand. =(

Monkey mummy and her baby! SO CUTE!!

Ting's banana that cost RM3 (Don't buy at the front stall)

So each of us bought something to feed the monkeys! See my RM1 big bunch of unripe bananas!
*Monkey loved sweet potatoes than any other things! Clever Hee and Amber bought sweet potatoes for RM1 as well

See the Proud face of the monkey enjoying his sweet potato!
The monkey inside was considered friendly animal =p

HAHAHA! consequences of having too much sweet potatoes on hand so Amber kena aimed by monkey. They snatch and run away. No worry, they did not attack her. HEHE
Then, we went to a small aquarium in Bukit Melawati.

After that, it's time for Eagle feeding! WOOHOO!
The jetty was just behind the hotel that we stayed

Group photo! Teh Tarik river HAHA

Excited to see the eagles

On the boat ready to go people!

Big wind and also big sun!

There are several species of eagles at there and there are many families of eagle also!
Eagle feeding time! Many many eagle! Definitely more than the one I saw in Langkawi!

They flew from all kind of directions

A very unique experience that you should witnessed by your own!

They loved to eat chicken skin

Thanks the boss who treat us coconut because me and ling hui answered his question correctly! He was so friendly! =D

Then, we go back to take a rest and come down again for our seafood dinner!
Loved the food there because it was yummy! especially the asam fish because Ting can eat 3 bowl of rice with this dish! HAHA

After dinner, is the most exciting activities of the trip! We going to see fireflies! I hadn't seen any before in my life because this little cute things was kinda hard to find in city area.
And Kuala Selangor is one of the place in Malaysia that offers you this Unique Experience!

SERIOUSLY, AS A LOCAL HERE, YOU SHOULD NOT MISS THIS!
AS A FOREIGNER, YOU SHOULD GO THIS TRIP TOO TO EXPERIENCE THE NATURE IN MALAYSIA

Dress up ourself at the night because it was so dark!

On the way to look for fireflies!

And there are many fireflies there and there were so amazingly beautiful! I don't have any photo because it was so hard to capture in the night! So, go grab the chance and witness them yourself before they disappear in this world! Their lifespan was so short!

Firefly is the cute little creature who wear a bulb on the butt! =D

Then we went to see these birds sleeping on the tree! Sorry birdys we should't wake u guys up!HEHE
After about 45 minutes, we headed back to hotel and Sing K on the lounge of the hotel.
End our night with beers and poker cards HAHA

The next morning, woke up and had breakfast on one of the local stalls in Sekinchan

A fishing village like Pulau Ketam

Loved the fishballs because it was so fresh!!! I wished to buy some home but mummy not here! If not she gonna cook it for me!

Then we went to Redang Beach in Sekinchan! If you watched the Hong Kong Drama 单恋双城, some parts were filmed at this beach!

The wishing tree

The creative people over there used this chair as a swing and trust me it was SO COMFORTABLE!!

The hammock by fishing net

Plastic chair swing, have you seen before? Talented right? HEHE

Hammock in the house!

It was so enjoying here that I can fall asleep within seconds!

Spot someone? HEHE

I'm a happy girl because there are many seashells on the seashore!
Kuching used to have alot during the olden days but now not anymore =(

Seashells~~~~~~

Selfies with our seashells!

Hello Sekinchan

After that, we proceed to a Super beautiful place which was the paddy field in Sekinchan!
But firstly, lets visit the rice factory first
Welcome to Sekinchan Paddy Field

There will have a guide explain to you the process of the rice that you eat now

Type of rice

How long have you been not having RICE with your family?
I missed the eating moments with my family! =(

The food that sold in the restaurant of the rice factory and all of it was yummy!
Worth a try!

Then, we going to explore the paddy field! And there were many photos taken! HEHE All of them was too beautiful so I gonna post out all! Skip the photo if you felt bored seeing my face =P

No regret to see such beautiful paddy field!
